General Teacher (SEN) – KS3 Specialist Base
North Tyneside
September 2026 Start – Christmas 2026
4 Days Per Week
Competitive Daily Rate (Dependent on Experience)

Hays Education are seeking a dedicated and adaptable General Teacher (SEN) to join a welcoming school in North Tyneside, working within a specialist base supporting Key Stage 3 pupils with Special Educational Needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes in a supportive and nurturing environment. The Role You will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging curriculum tailored to the individual needs of KS3 pupils within the specialist provision.
Working closely with support staff and the wider school team, you will create a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment that enables pupils to develop both academically and socially.

Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Supporting pupils' academic, emotional, and social development
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
Monitoring progress and adapting learning to support individual pupil outcomes
Promoting positive behaviour management strategies and pupil engagement

What You'll Need
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, or additional learning needs
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
