Join Hays as a Secondary Supply Teacher in Worthing!

Supply Teachers Needed! | Worthing | £120 - £150 Per Day

  • Are you looking for full‑time teaching work or flexible supply opportunities in the Worthing area?
  • Are you currently registered with another agency but not receiving enough consistent work?
  • Are you in part‑time employment and hoping to supplement your income with additional teaching hours?
If the answer is "yes" to any of these questions, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for inspiring and adaptable Supply Teachers to join Hays. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys connecting with young people, and brings a positive presence into every classroom they enter.

As a supply teacher, you will step into different lessons across the school, ensuring students continue to learn, explore, and stay motivated even when their usual teacher is absent. Each day offers something new. One morning you might be guiding a lively Year 7 group through a creative writing task, and by the afternoon you could be supporting a GCSE science class with practical revision. Your flexibility, confidence, and enthusiasm will help keep learning on track and spirits high.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
  • Creating a calm, engaging learning environment where students feel supported.
  • Managing behaviour in line with school expectations.
  • Building quick rapport with students and staff.
  • Maintaining continuity and momentum in the classroom.
You will become a valued part of the school team, working closely with department leads, pastoral staff, and fellow teachers. While each day brings new challenges, it also brings the chance to make a real difference, offering students stability, encouragement, and a sense of routine.

The role is ideal for:

  • Qualified teachers seeking flexible, varied work.
  • Teachers returning to the classroom after a break.
  • Newly qualified teachers looking to build experience.
  • Confident practitioners who enjoy stepping into new environments.
We offer support and opportunities for ongoing professional development. If you are passionate about teaching, quick to adapt, and excited by the idea of making an impact across the school, we would love to hear from you.
