General Manager/ Country Manager - Sales, BD and Operations - UK Pharmaceutical Generics

Your new role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Country Manager (GM) to lead our UK operations. This role will be responsible for driving commercial growth in the GLS (Generic Licencing & Supply) and POM (Prescription-Only Medicines) domestic market, while overseeing operations, quality assurance (QA), and supply chain functions.
This is a strategic leadership role with full P&L accountability and cross-functional oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership
- Develop and execute the UK commercial strategy for GLS and POM segments.
- Drive revenue growth through new product launches, pricing strategies, and market penetration.
- Build and manage key customer relationships (wholesalers, NHS, pharmacy chains, etc.).
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform strategy.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure efficient and compliant operations across all UK functions.
- Lead cross-functional teams including commercial, regulatory, QA, and logistics.
- Collaborate with global supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure product availability and service levels.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with MHRA and UK regulatory standards.
- Oversee QA systems and processes, including audits, CAPAs, and product release.
Supply Chain Management
- Manage end-to-end supply chain operations including demand planning, inventory, and distribution.
- Optimise logistics and warehousing to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Leadership & Governance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing UK team.
- Represent Company in internal and external forums.
- Provide regular reporting to global leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities.
What you'll need to succeed
Key Requirements
Experience & Background
- Proven track record in a senior leadership role within the UK pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of the UK generics and/or branded POM market.
- Experience managing commercial, QA, and supply chain functions.
- Familiarity with MHRA regulations and UK pharma compliance standards.
