Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Key Skills Pathway – Coventry

Location: Tile Hill, Coventry

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm after just 12 weeks!


About the Setting

This specialist education setting in Coventry supports young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities. The Key Skills pathway is designed for learners who are ready to focus on independence, employability, and preparation for adulthood.

Learners follow tailored programmes that combine functional English, maths, and ICT with practical life skills, work experience, and community engagement. Your new role

As a Key Skills SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners developing independence and employability skills.
  • Assist with personal care and daily routines where required.
  • Support learners in building functional English, maths, ICT, and life skills.
  • Encourage participation in work experience, community activities, and practical learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored, goal-focused programmes.
  • Help create a positive, structured, and inclusive environment that prepares learners for adulthood.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth work backgrounds considered).
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • A genuine passion for helping learners develop independence and life skills.
  • Willingness to support with personal care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners.
