Freelance Site Manager Job I Manchester I Refurb & Extension on a School I Long Term

Your new company

My client are seeking a highly capable Freelance Site Manager to lead the refurbishment and extension of a school in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a meaningful project that will directly benefit the local community and education sector.

Your new role

Oversee all on-site activities related to the refurbishment and extension works.
Ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
Maintain high standards of health & safety and site cleanliness.
Liaise with school representatives and stakeholders to minimise disruption to school operations.
Monitor progress and produce regular site reports.
Ensure compliance with building regulations and quality standards.

What you'll need to succeed

Proven experience managing refurbishment and extension projects, ideally within the education sector.
Strong understanding of construction processes, health & safety, and site logistics.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain tight schedules.
Enhanced DBS clearance is highly desirable (or willingness to obtain).
SMSTS, First Aid & CSCS.
