Hays NI are currently representing an established NI-based Building & Engineering contractor who are seeking to add an experienced Foreperson to their team. This firm is one of Northern Ireland’s leading medium-sized Civils and building contractors who specialise in delivering schemes across the province to both private and public sector clients. This company has established themselves as an award-winning employer who boasts a growing order book for the duration of 2025 and beyond and have an excellent record of delivering projects across a range of sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Leisure & Tourism, Community, Industrial and Utilities.

Your new role

This company is currently seeking the services of an experienced foreperson to join them on an ongoing commercial scheme based in Co. Tyrone, initially on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating trades, and supervising subcontractors to ensure that all work is completed to specification, on time, and in line with health and safety standards. You will be responsible for maintaining quality control, and ensuring compliance with building regulations and client requirements. You’ll also be expected to liaise with project managers, resolve any issues that arise during construction, and keep accurate progress reports. You will be a confident communicator with solid construction experience and a talent for motivating teams and keeping projects on track. This is initially a temporary role with the potential for further work.

What you'll need to succeed

A successful foreperson will be able to effectively meet targets within time and budget whilst managing the performance of subcontractors and direct labour. An established background in overseeing building packages is essential in order to drive the project forward and deliver to schedule. You will place a particular focus on health and safety whilst ensuring high levels of productivity. You must be a good communicator and motivator in order to drive the project on. Furthermore, you must hold a valid CSR (Site Supervisor), CSCS or SMSTS certification. You will be available to start at short notice.
