Floating Teaching Assistant – Early Years Focus Islington, North London
The Opportunity
A well-established independent primary school in Islington is seeking a Floating Teaching Assistant with strong experience in Early Years education. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing and creative learning environment that values individualised teaching and high staff-to-child ratios.
The school operates across two nearby sites and caters to children aged 2.5 to 11. It is known for its warm, inclusive community, excellent pastoral care, and commitment to academic excellence through a non-selective approach.
Role Overview
As a Floating TA, you will support children from Reception to Year 4, adapting to different classrooms and age groups as needed. Your Early Years expertise will be especially valuable in the dedicated Early Years Centre, while flexibility to work with older pupils is also essential.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team where creativity, thematic learning, and child-centred approaches are at the heart of the curriculum. Staff are encouraged to contribute to whole-school events and play an active role in shaping the school’s future as it expands to full primary provision.
