Fleet Manager, Glasgow, Salary DOE

Your new role

As Fleet Manager, you’ll lead the operational planning, delivery, and management of the vehicle fleet — supporting the movement of technical officials, dignitaries, media, and workforce across Glasgow and beyond. From procurement and branding to distribution, servicing, fuelling, and operations, you’ll oversee the full vehicle lifecycle to ensure every journey runs safely, efficiently, and on time. Working closely with the wider transport team and external suppliers, you’ll ensure every vehicle is safe, available, and fit for purpose. You’ll also play a key role in leading the recruitment, rostering, training, and deployment of the driver workforce, ensuring operational readiness at every stage.
This is a senior, hands-on operational role with high visibility and real impact — the chance to shape one of the most important logistical operations. You’ll be the key point of contact for multiple stakeholders, coordinating delivery partners, suppliers, and internal functions to ensure every detail aligns with the standards, policies, and safety protocols.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for an experienced fleet operation professional with a track record of delivering transport or logistics programmes in fast-paced, complex environments. You’ll have strong leadership skills, with experience managing suppliers, contracts, and operational teams under pressure while maintaining high safety and service standards.
A solid understanding of driver management, vehicle tracking systems, scheduling, and maintenance planning is essential. You should also be comfortable with procurement processes, supplier coordination, and compliance monitoring. Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills are a must, alongside the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across operations, workforce, and security.
Experience working with operational planning tools and real-time reporting systems will be valuable, as will the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours during peak times.

What you'll get in return

This is a 10-month contract and the salary on offer depends on experience.
