Fleet Coordinator Derbyshire Perm up to £36k DOE

Your new company

You will be working for one of the fastest growing transport companies in the UK. Who offer a dynamic working environment and prospects to progress within the transport industry. Due to continued success, they are looking to recruit a Fleet Controller.


Your new role

  • Plan and coordinate routine maintenance schedules for specialised plant and container handling machinery, ensuring timely servicing to prevent breakdowns and maximise equipment uptime.
  • Manage and prioritise repairs and breakdowns, assigning tasks to service providers based on urgency and availability, and ensuring repairs are completed promptly and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and manage cost, ensuring that invoices are in line with estimates for repairs.
  • Act as the main point of contact between terminals, engineers, and management, providing clear and concise updates on equipment status, repair progress, and any potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including engineer time, and equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all service activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Produce reports on equipment performance, service schedules, and repair outcomes, identifying trends and areas for improvement.


What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally already have experience with a fleet controller position or be a recent graduate looking to start your career path and development. You will be highly motivated and keen to develop your career in fleet operations as part of a focused, results-oriented team.

  • Whilst not essential, an understanding of specialised plant and container handling machinery, including maintenance requirements and common repair issues, would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with engineers, site, and management.
  • Competency in using bespoke fleet management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, minimising equipment downtime.
  • High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping and reporting
