Associate Fire Engineer

Hays Health & Safety is working in partnership with a respected international consultancy to recruit a Fire Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, multi-sector design practice delivering fire engineering solutions across commercial, residential, transport, and energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead fire engineering design across a range of sectors including buildings, infrastructure, and energy facilities
Develop fire strategies, assess fire-related risks, and ensure compliance with UK and international standards
Manage multiple projects from concept to delivery, including budgeting and stakeholder engagement
Support junior engineers and act as a technical reviewer on project submissions
Contribute to tenders and help grow client relationships

The successful candidate:

Degree in engineering (ideally fire engineering) or relevant postgraduate qualification
Strong knowledge of standards such as BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545
Experience with fire modelling tools (e.g. FDS, PyroSim) is advantageous
Working towards Chartered Fire Engineer status
Able to obtain UK security clearance

This role offers a salary of up to £95k for a highly experienced candidate, with the opportunity to work on some prestigious projects.
