Financial Reporting Manager - Manchester - PLC - £70000

Your new company
A prestigious, award winning blue chip PLC based in Manchester is seeking a technically accomplished accountant to join its high performing finance function. This is a career defining opportunity offering direct exposure to the senior leadership team, combining technical financial reporting with team management responsibilities. The organisation is renowned for its commitment to work life balance, professional development, and clear pathways for progression.

Your new role
In this role, you will take full ownership of monthly and quarterly reporting deliverables, ensuring deadlines are consistently met. This includes oversight of the balance sheet and cashflow, submission of IFRS figures, and management of Solvency II quarterly requirements. You will work in close collaboration with the Finance Manager Management Accounts to deliver a seamless end‑to‑end reporting cycle, ensuring all reconciliations are accurate and aligned with month end timetables.

You will lead the reconciliation and review of the balance sheet, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and maintaining robust supporting documentation. A key part of the role will be validating balances relating to accruals, prepayments, provisions, and associated charges, safeguarding the integrity of financial reporting.

Beyond core reporting, you will design and implement a suite of monthly actuals reports to enhance business understanding and decision making, particularly in relation to capital expenditure and property leases. You will also provide financial support for business cases where capital investment is required, ensuring recommendations are underpinned by sound analysis.

What you'll need to succeed
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with strong technical expertise in IFRS
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate effectively, achieving results without direct line authority
  • Flexible, pragmatic, and resilient, with the capacity to manage competing priorities across both BAU and change initiatives, applying a risk‑based approach
What you'll get in return

  • Salary: £70,000
  • Hybrid working model – 1 or 2 days per week in the office
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Private healthcare
  • Flexible working options available.
