Join Inn Gear Ltd and help guide their high-performing, creative team to achieve their growth ambitions.
Inn Gear Ltd is a thriving, £15m turnover, leading supplier of furniture, artwork, bric-a-brac, reclaimed architectural elements and lighting to the UK hospitality sector. Established in 1985 and now with over 130 employees, they’ve built a strong reputation for quality, creativity and reliability, working with some of the biggest names in the brewery, restaurant and hotel industry.
You will be joining a team which is experienced, dynamic and commercially minded, many of them have worked together for over a decade. As they continue to grow, they’re investing in their people, systems and infrastructure to support the next phase of their journey. They’re proud of their reputation and excited about what’s next; with refurbishment activity in the hospitality sector expected to significantly outpace new construction (driven by sustainability goals and changing consumer behaviours), they are perfectly placed to achieve their ambitious growth target across the next 3 years.
The Job
Join Inn Gear Ltd as the Financial Controller and play a pivotal role in their leadership team, taking full ownership of the finance function, reporting to the Managing Director. This is a hands-on, strategic role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, design-led environment and enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders to drive performance and profitability.
This is a rare opportunity to truly shape the future of finance within a growing business. You’ll lead the change on improving project budget controls, streamlining systems and reporting, and influencing key stakeholders to unlock cost efficiencies and drive profitability. If you're ready to make a visible impact and take ownership of meaningful change, this role offers the platform to do just that.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading all aspects of financial control, including management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow.
- Producing accurate monthly reporting with insightful commentary across multiple revenue streams.
- Managing statutory accounts, audit processes, and compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC requirements.
- Supporting pricing, margin analysis, and investment decisions with robust financial modelling.
- Driving improvements in cashflow, working capital, and financial systems.
- Strengthening controls and leading process enhancements to support scalability.
- Managing and developing a small finance team, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
About you
We’re seeking a dynamic and strategic finance professional with a recognised professional qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA) and a strong track record in senior financial management in SME/owner-managed businesses. Experience in the manufacturing, hospitality, retail or another product-based sector is ideal, but we also welcome commercially focused professionals who can quickly adapt to the nuances of this industry.
You’ll be an inspiring team leader with a collaborative and proactive mindset, capable of guiding a small, high-performing finance team. Your commercial acumen and ability to navigate complex multi-site projects will be key to your success.
You’ll also bring:
- Exceptional communication skills to engage confidently with customers, partners, and colleagues
- A proactive, self-motivated mindset with a hands-on approach
- High digital literacy and confidence with financial systems and reporting tools, experience with system migrations or automation projects would be advantageous.
