Financial Controller – Publishing

Your new company:
Our Client is a well-established publishing company who are hiring a new Financial Controller based in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an ACA-qualified, technically strong Finance Manager looking to take the next step in a more creative environment. You’ll be the third member of the finance team and will lead and manage the finance function.

Your new role:
  • Lead all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, tax and VAT work
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • You will be doing the group consolidations and statutory accounts.
  • Liaise with external auditors and advisors
  • Drive process improvements and reporting automation
  • Lead and develop the finance team of six
  • Own finance systems and controls
  • You will be reporting to the Finance Director.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • ACA qualified
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP/IFRS)
  • Experience in publishing or stock accounting is highly desirable but not needed
  • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams
  • Hands-on experience in VAT and tax compliance
  • Background in SMEs or fast-paced environments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Eager to take ownership of a well-rounded technical FC role
