Your new role
As Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of the finance function, leading a small team and overseeing all aspects of financial governance. You’ll be responsible for delivering accurate reporting, managing forecasting and budgeting cycles, and ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. This role will also play a key part in supporting strategic decision-making and enabling operational efficiency across the business.
Responsibilities include:- Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Own P&L and balance sheet preparation for audit
- Lead operational finance, ensuring robust controls and compliance
- Oversee cost-centre management and identify opportunities for efficiency
- Deliver timely reporting and performance dashboards to senior stakeholders
- Provide commercial insight to support strategic initiatives
- Drive process improvement, risk mitigation, and governance maturity
- Manage working capital and cash flow processes
- Act as key contact for external audits and ensure deadlines are met
What you'll need to succeed
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of developing teams
- Sound technical knowledge of accounting standards, VAT, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Resilient, proactive, and adaptable, with a passion for driving change.
- Track record of driving change and process improvement
