A leading mid-sized professional services firm with a strong reputation in private wealth, real estate, and corporate advisory is seeking a Financial Compliance Manager to join its collaborative Finance team. Your new role
As Financial Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm’s compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and broader financial governance. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee client money controls, breach monitoring, internal audits, and training initiatives. You will be instrumental in maintaining robust financial procedures and supporting regulatory engagement with bodies such as the SRA.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing reconciliations of client ledger totals and bank statements
  • Monitoring and reporting breaches, including root cause analysis and remediation
  • Drafting and updating policies and procedures in line with SRA guidance
  • Conducting internal audits and sample file reviews
  • Delivering training on Accounts Rules and compliance best practices
  • Producing reports and metrics for senior stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvement and leveraging technology for compliance
What you'll need to succeed
  • Strong expertise in Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
  • Experience in a law firm finance environment (minimum 5 years)
  • Proficiency in legal accounting systems and Excel
  • Exposure to internal audits and regulatory engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A relevant finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
