Financial Accounting Manager - General ledger job opportunity

Our client, a leading global service sector organisation, is experiencing an exciting period of growth and, as part of an exciting transformation project, are looking to strengthen their existing finance team by appointing a Financial Accounting Manager - General Ledger.

Your new role

This is a pivotal role within the finance leadership team in which you will oversee the integrity of financial records through accurate accounting, timely close processes, and adherence to internal controls. You’ll manage a team of accountants, ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, and support audits and reporting while driving continuous process improvements across the Record-to-Report cycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Close Management – Oversee timely and accurate general ledger closures across entities.
  • Financial Integrity – Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain robust reconciliations.
  • Audit Coordination – Prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors.
  • Team Leadership – Lead and develop staff in areas like fixed assets, intercompany and journal entries.
  • Process Optimisation – Drive automation and standardisation in accounting operations.

The Financial Accounting Manager is a key operational leader who brings structure, drives improvements, and builds a strong, technically capable team that supports the broader finance agenda.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in similar accounting leadership roles. You will have a deep understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting, proven ability to manage close cycles, reconciliations, accruals, and audit processes.

Experience with ERP systems would be preferable but not essential.
