You will be joining the UK operation of an established international banking group with a long‑standing presence in London. The business operates in a regulated branch environment, providing corporate and commercial banking services and maintaining a strong focus on governance, control and regulatory compliance. The organisation is known for its stable culture, long employee tenure and measured approach to growth, offering a supportive environment where finance professionals are given genuine ownership and visibility across the function.

Your new role

Reporting into the Financial Control and MI Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function across financial and management reporting, Head Office reporting and UK regulatory requirements.

  • Supporting the month‑end close process, including preparation of journals and completion and coordination of balance sheet GL reconciliations
  • Performing analytical reviews of P&L and balance sheet movements, providing clear explanations against prior month, prior year and budget
  • Preparing data extracts and note disclosures for submissions to Head Office and UK regulators, ensuring full reconciliation back to source systems
  • Maintaining and enhancing balance sheet substantiation reporting ensuring key movements were clearly explained and suspense and control accounts tightly controlled
  • Coordinating and responding to queries and requests from Head Office in a timely and accurate manner

What you'll need to succeed

  • A recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with a strong technical accounting foundation
  • Proven experience in a financial control or financial accounting role, ideally within a UK‑regulated banking or financial services environment
  • Strong hands‑on experience across month‑end close, including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation, and analytical review of P&L and balance sheet movements
  • Experience supporting financial and management reporting, including Head Office reporting and interaction with UK regulators

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive base salary and annual discretionary bonus
  • Generous pension scheme and life assurance
  • Private medical insurance
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Supportive and stable working environment with strong focus on governance and quality
