A key manufacturer in Teesside is seeking a Financial Accountant & Internal Control Analyst to cover a key member of the finance team's maternity leave. This is a pivotal role combining financial reporting, internal controls, and process optimisation.
Your new role
Joining a small, but established team, you will be responsible for:-
- Financial Reporting — Deliver accurate, timely financial and management reporting across multiple business units, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Month end closure, in particular Sales Ledger, Assets & Stock
- Internal Controls — Oversee bank security, segregation of duties, approval workflows, and fraud‑prevention measures.
- SAP & Systems Management — Manage SAP updates, fixed asset processes, project reporting, and CAPEX governance.
- Process Improvement — Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, strengthen audit readiness, and streamline financial operations.
- Tax & Compliance Support — Assist with tax submissions, expense claim reviews, supplier processes, and internal control assessments.
- Stock & Audit Oversight — Monitor stock reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal audit activity to ensure data integrity.
What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally have hands-on experience of month-end close and reporting, with excellent Excel reporting and analysis experience. Knowledge of SAP would put your application at a distinct advantage.
- Minimum AAT Level 3, with at least three years’ experience in finance or studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment
- Strong SAP or similar ERP capability, plus advanced Excel skills.
- Fixed term contract of 9-12 months.
