The role is suited to a detail‑oriented finance professional with a strong grounding in financial accounting who enjoys working in a structured, purpose‑driven environment.

Your new role

Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will take responsibility for core financial accounting activities and support the ongoing development of a data‑driven finance function.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Month‑end and year‑end close processes
  • Production of VAT returns and support with statutory compliance
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
  • Management of the sales ledger and associated reconciliations
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Drafting elements of statutory accounts and supporting the annual external audit
  • Implementing and streamlining financial policies and procedures
  • Supporting ad‑hoc financial analysis, reporting and projects
This role offers exposure to both operational and strategic finance, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, controls and continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles
  • Experience producing management accounts and statutory‑supporting reports
  • Confidence with month‑end processes, reconciliations and VAT
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently
Both fully qualified and part‑qualified candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

What you'll get in return

  • A stable, supportive working environment with a strong people‑focused culture
  • Opportunities for professional development and progression
  • A varied role with exposure across financial reporting, controls and audit
  • Excellent benefits include enhanced holiday allowance, pension contribution and wellbeing support.
