We have an excellent contract job opportunity for Finance Transformation Manager.

We are seeking an experienced interim Finance professional to support the redesign and optimisation of our client’s finance processes, leveraging new data sources and automation tools to enhance reporting efficiency and control. This is a hands-on role combining process improvement with operational financial reporting support, particularly during the year-end close and audit period. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, process design, and controls, with practical experience in implementing automated or data-driven finance solutions.

Contract – 6 months (potential to extend)
Location – Waterside (UB7 0GB) (Hybrid 2/3 days in the office)

What you’ll be doing
Finance Process Improvement:
  • Review the client’s current financial reporting processes, controls and workflows in the context of the client’s commercial proposition.
  • Partner with Financial Reporting, Finance Transformation and Data teams to re-design these processes and controls to leverage new datasets and automated reporting capabilities.
  • Develop documentation, process maps, and control narratives for new processes.
  • Prepare a detailed roadmap for the implementation of these new processes and controls that takes into consideration the wider review of the client’s ERP capabilities.
  • Support testing and rollout of new automated processes and reporting solutions.
Financial Reporting:
  • Provide support to the client’s Financial Reporting team through the year-end reporting and audit process, including:
  • The year-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Group reporting.
  • Preparation and/or review of reconciliations, schedules, and working papers as required to support year-end audit queries.
  • Liaising with internal and external auditors, providing clear and well-supported responses to audit requests.
  • Contributing to post-year-end improvement reviews to enhance efficiency and control for future periods.
What we’re looking for:
  • An experienced interim Finance professional with a strong track record of successful process improvement, controls design and finance transformation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, numeracy and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently, continuously seeking opportunities for change and improvement with a ‘can do’/ ‘resolution based’ attitude to make these a reality.
  • Innovative mindset – someone with a sense of urgency who is excited to create something new, iterate, make mistakes and learn.
  • A passionate and engaging communicator, with the ability to proactively build effective relationships and influence diverse audiences.
  • Able to adapt to new situations and responsibilities, always demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable and self-motivated individual with the ability to manage and prioritise demanding workloads and deadlines.
