Hays is exclusively collaborating with a comprehensive school in the Gloucestershire town of Stroud. Students ages 11 to 18 attend this coeducational institution, which prioritises solid relationships and a collaborative environment, earning an Ofsted grade of "Good" in March 2022. The school is situated in a lovely neighbourhood with good transport connections and proximity to the Cotswolds. It provides a lively school community that prioritises the well-being of its students. They are looking to add a Finance Officer to their finance team in a time of growth.
Your new role
During a time of growth, the finance team are looking to add a key member of staff to their finance team to support the current Senior Finance Officer. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:- Provide support for the general administration of the school with a focus on finance and HR.
- Answer phones, assist on reception, and manage the finance email inbox.
- Maintain financial records and archives.
- Manage school and non-public funds (Sports & Recreation Account).
- Assist with educational visits (e-Visit system, trip planning, costings).
- Performing other duties to support the smooth running of the school office.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working in a financial environment (essential).
- Experience in a school or college setting (desirable).
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English & Maths.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CSBM Diploma, SAFC) (desirable).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Patient, diplomatic, reliable, conscientious, and consistent.
What you'll get in return
- Actual salary range: £22,295 - £23,458 per annum (pro rata for term-time + 1 week working hours).
- 37 hours per week, term-time only + 1 additional week during school holidays (negotiable working pattern possible).
