Your new company

A well‑established, community‑focused organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to provide essential support during a busy period. This part‑time role (4 days per week, 9am–5pm) offers hybrid working, making it an ideal opportunity for a part‑qualified accountant, QBE finance professional, or fully qualified candidate who can step in confidently and add immediate value.

Your new role

You’ll join a small, supportive finance team where your expertise will keep day‑to‑day operations running smoothly. This role offers a broad mix of financial management, reporting, and systems work- ideal for someone who thrives in a hands‑on environment and can hit the ground running.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Manage purchase ledger, invoice processing, and supplier payments
  • Support rent accounting, arrears recovery, and service charge processes
  • Assist with cashflow monitoring and treasury activity
  • Contribute to monthly management accounts and year‑end preparation
  • Ensure timely payroll, PAYE, pensions, and HMRC submissions
  • Produce reconciliations, financial reports, and performance data
  • Support compliance, regulatory returns, and policy updates
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across finance, housing, and corporate services

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will be someone who brings confidence, accuracy, and a proactive mindset. You will be comfortable managing your own workload, solving problems, and communicating clearly with colleagues at all levels.

You will bring:
  • Qualified, part‑qualified, or qualified‑by‑experience finance background
  • Experience in a varied finance role
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills
  • A positive, solutions‑focused approach

What you'll get in return

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys meaningful work, values a supportive culture, and wants to contribute to an organisation with a strong social purpose. If you are adaptable, detail‑driven, and available at short notice this is a great fit.
