Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a Finance Assistant to join their dynamic finance team based in Belfast.

Your new role

As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation. You will be responsible for managing cash books, processing petty cash payments, and preparing journals for input into financial systems. Your duties will also include conducting petty cash inspections, reconciling bank accounts, and liaising with both internal staff and external stakeholders such as banks. You’ll assist in audits, generate ad hoc reports, and contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
  • At least one year’s experience in a busy finance office.
  • Proven experience in reconciliation work (bank and petty cash).
  • Familiarity with accounting packages and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to process high volumes of work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • A team-oriented mindset and willingness to support other areas of the finance department.
Desirable attributes include experience with foreign currency transactions, knowledge of the Integra accounting package, and an understanding of the Imprest system for petty cash.
