Finance Officer - Public Sector - Ballymena - Imminent Start

Your new role

As Finance Officer within the Financial Accounting Services team, you will support the day-to-day operations of financial accounts, including Charitable Trust Funds and Patient’s Private Property. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining petty cash and catering department floats
  • Processing patient travel expenses and liaising with external agencies
  • Managing safe registers and controlled stationery
  • Certifying remittance advice forms and processing manual cheque payments
  • Handling receipts, payments, reconciliations, and credit card transactions
  • Supporting financial reporting, audits, and year-end processes
  • Assisting with system uploads, journals, and governance checks
  • Providing financial analysis and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Oracle or similar)
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to financial policies
