Finance Interim Support - Public Sector - Belfast

You will be joining a well-established public sector organisation based in Belfast, supporting a high-profile government function during a critical financial reporting period. The organisation is known for its structured processes, strong governance, and collaborative working environment, offering excellent exposure to public sector finance operations at a key point in the financial year.

Your new role

As a Finance Interim Support Officer, you will play a key role in assisting the finance team through a busy year-end period.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting year-end financial processes and timelines
  • Assisting with account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Processing journals in line with established financial procedures
  • Providing support during internal and external audit activities
  • Managing and responding to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders
  • Maintaining and updating supplier records, ensuring accuracy of financial data
  • Supporting general finance administration and ensuring compliance with policies


What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounts support role (e.g. reconciliations, journals, invoicing, or reporting)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a structured environment
  • Good communication skills with the ability to manage queries effectively
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid CTC Clearance (essential requirement for this role)
