Finance Officer Job - £29K - £31K + - Rent/Service Charge Exp – Hybrid - Sevenoaks

Your new role

  • Cash Management: Maintain daily cashbooks, post banking transactions, and reconcile income bank accounts.
  • Rent Accounting: Apply payments and charges to tenant accounts, including payroll deductions and Universal Credit arrears.
  • Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve missing payment issues with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Accounts Receivable: Issue invoices, monitor outstanding debts, and respond to billing queries.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular accounts receivable reports for management.
  • Balance Sheet Accuracy: Reconcile ledgers and support month-end income closing activities.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of banking transactions.
  • Team Support: Provide cover for the Finance Officer – Income and manage a shared mailbox.
  • Compliance: Adhere to data protection and internal financial policies.
  • Collaboration & Values: Promote teamwork and uphold organisational values through all duties.

What you'll need to succeed

- At least 3 years in Accounts Receivable or Rent accounting role
- Intermediate Excel skills, including the use of intermediate formulas.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel (intermediate formulas), Word.
- Able to collaborate productively with colleagues internally & externally
- Ability to work methodically under pressure and manage priorities.
- Proven experience of complex reconciliations with large volumes of data

Desirable
- Knowledge of the Housing Sector.
- Familiarity with Advanced Financials software
- Familiarity with Civica CX software.
- Currently studying for an accounting qualification.

What you'll get in return

This is a great permanent job opportunity for an experienced AR Finance Assistant. The job is paying up to £31K and is also hybrid. The role is 37 hours per week.
and the working hours are 8.45 – 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday, 8.45 – 4.45 pm Friday.
