Part-time temporary Finance Manager based near Colchester for 3 months paying £300 per day PAYE

Finance Manager to join its team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a mission-led organisation that blends heritage, nature, and community impact. The role is based in a beautiful estate setting and offers the chance to work with passionate colleagues in a collaborative environment.

In your role as Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring robust financial management and compliance. You will lead on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, while supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis. You will also manage a part-time Finance Assistant and work closely with senior leadership and board members.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing payroll and HR-related financial processes
  • Producing monthly management accounts and KPIs
  • Preparing quarterly finance reports for subcommittees and board meetings
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning
  • Overseeing VAT returns, reconciliations, and fixed asset reporting
  • Managing stock control and supplier contracts
  • Administering Gift Aid submissions and investment records
  • Ensuring HMRC compliance and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting charity commission reporting and financial updates to the senior management team
You’ll also play a key role in upholding the organisation’s values, fostering a positive team culture, and contributing to continuous improvement across financial operations.

What You Will Need to Succeed
You will be immediately available for work and have your own transportation due to the location.

To thrive in this role, you will need:
  • Proven experience in financial management, ideally within a charity or not-for-profit setting
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Experience with payroll and HR-related financial processes
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence in producing reports for senior stakeholders and board-level audiences
  • Familiarity with VAT, Gift Aid, and HMRC compliance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to organisational values
