Work for a rapidly growing retailer / wholesaler in North Manchester – first move from Practice

Your new company
Your new company is a highly acquisitive wholesaler based in North Manchester. After yet another successful period of growth, they're looking to recruit a practice-trained Finance Manager.

Your new role

In this newly created role, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving efficient financial operations. In terms of audit and financial reporting, you will lead the internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and liaison with auditors. You will prepare and submit accurate VAT returns and ensure compliance with Excise Duty regulations. You will monitor and report on foreign exchange exposures and execute hedging strategies where appropriate. Assist with the management of cash positions across currencies to optimise working capital.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA with a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience. You must be practice trained, have an excellent ability to communicate with non-financial colleagues and present to senior stakeholders. You must have strong knowledge of UK tax rules, including VAT, experience dealing with HMRC and audit processes, proficiency in financial systems, advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities, as well as the ability to lead and manage a team.

What you'll get in return

In return for your expertise and commitment, you will join a growing organisation that values professional development and career progression. You will have the opportunity to expand your technical skills, take on increasing responsibility, and shape the financial operations of a dynamic business. The role offers exposure to complex areas such as foreign exchange, investments, and compliance, giving you the chance to broaden your experience and strengthen your leadership capabilities. You will receive a salary of £65,000 plus a bonus.
