Your new company

A rapidly growing, independently owned medical communications agency is seeking an experienced interim finance professional. With a newly formed financial leadership team and evolving processes, the business is in an exciting phase of growth and transition. This is a fully remote opportunity, offering the chance to make a real impact during a key period of change.

Your new role

As Interim Finance Manager, you will bridge the gap between the Finance Director and Accounts Assistant during a critical period. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal abilities to support a team that is currently unsettled. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and maintaining accounts to trial balance, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and VAT returns

  • Managing multi-currency billings (GBP and USD), including FX revaluations and hedging

  • Overseeing agency revenue recognition processes

  • Working with Xero (general ledger) and Paprika (project management system)

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close (calendar year-end)

  • Assisting with financial controls and process improvements

  • Collaborating closely with the Finance Director and providing guidance to the Accounts Assistant

  • Supporting project teams with financial queries and building trust in Finance

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in management accounting within a marketing/communications agency or similar project-based environment

  • Strong knowledge of agency revenue recognition

  • Proficiency in Xero and/or Paprika

  • Ability to manage multi-currency transactions and FX processes

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving finance function

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide reassurance and stability to the team

  • Ability to hit the ground running and work independently
