Finance Manager | Leeds | Permanent

I'm working with an amazing growing organisation who are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their Multi Academy Trust! This is a school-based position, so it's more than just a finance role as you will be hands-on in supporting the financial, administrative and operational aspects of school management - it is the ideal role for someone looking to step up or expand their experience!

The role will include:
Financial Management:
  1. Manage orders, invoices, and payments using the Trust’s finance software.
  2. Address purchase order and invoice queries promptly.
    Ensure adherence to correct financial procedures.

Asset Management and Financial Compliance:
  1. Maintain the asset register.
  2. Establish appropriate filing systems for audits.
  3. Manage the Petty Cash account.

Monthly Reporting and Forecasting:
  1. Produce monthly management accounts.
  2. Analyse actual versus budget.
  3. Develop 5-year forecasts.

Staff Support and Compliance:
  1. Provide financial advice to budget holders.
  2. Monitor payroll reports and discrepancies.
  3. Ensure staff compliance with financial regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate policy reviews.
  2. Oversee self-funding academy trips.
  3. Collaborate on planned maintenance projects.
  4. Manage employee records and sickness reporting.
  5. Line manage the Finance Administrator.
  6. Report on catering income and expenditure.
  7. Oversee site management and health and safety.

They're ideally looking for someone with a finance background AAT qualified (or P/Q ACCA/CIMA) as a minimum with experience of working in a busy finance office. It's a full-time position all year round, and it's based on site in school, although there will be an opportunity to work more flexibly in the school holidays.
