Your new role

Working closely with Finance & Operations, you will lead the finance function, producing accurate and timely financial information to support the school's strategic and operational goals. You will also have the opportunity to manage a small finance team whilst working closely with both support and academic staff.
This role offers a varied and rewarding role; some of the key duties will be:

  • Lead month‑end processes and produce management accounts
  • Maintain strong financial controls and oversee reconciliations
  • Manage cashflow, banking, treasury and debtor control
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cost management
  • Oversee payroll processes, staff benefits and financial HR data
  • Prepare audit files and support year‑end and statutory accounts
  • Drive process improvements across the finance function
  • Lead and develop the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team

What you'll need to succeed

The right individual for this role would be someone who thrives in a varied role, enjoys working with a wide selection of people and values really making a difference within an organisation. Some of the key things we require:

  • Fully Qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Understanding of accounting within public or third party organisations
  • Experience within the education sector – Independent school sector desirable
  • Advanced Excel & strong systems capability
  • Experienced of producing detailed financial reports
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and organised approach
  • Confident communicator able to work with non-finance colleagues
  • Focused on improvements
