Your new company
Join a leading organisation in the energy efficiency and sustainability sector, dedicated to tackling fuel poverty, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting sustainable local economic development. With a strong track record of delivering high-quality services to thousands of households, this company is at the forefront of making homes warmer, healthier, and more energy efficient across Scotland and beyond. You’ll be part of a passionate team committed to driving positive change and delivering first-class service to communities in need.

Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Financial Controller to ensure the smooth running of the finance department. You will lead a small team and take responsibility for a range of key financial processes, acting as a vital link between internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners. Your remit will include overseeing purchase and sales ledger postings, managing bank postings, and handling invoicing for multiple projects. You will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring purchase orders, conducting regular data analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. The role also involves preparing quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS submissions, as well as supporting month-end processes such as reconciliations and forecasting. You will regularly liaise with sub-contractors, vendors, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth financial operations. In addition, you will drive process development and mapping, championing continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain up-to-date pricing files while supporting finance system enhancements. This is a full-time position based in Edinburgh, offering 37 hours per week and a competitive salary of up to £55,000 per year, depending on skills and experience. The benefits package includes 25 days’ annual leave plus 9 public holidays.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong numeracy and a professional approach to financial management. You should have proven experience in a managerial finance role, ideally within a dynamic, project-driven environment. Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail are essential, as are sound IT skills, including Excel and experience with accounting packages. The ability to build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is crucial. You should be confident, accurate, and able to use your own initiative in your work. A dedication to continuous improvement and a collaborative, enthusiastic team spirit will help you thrive in this environment. A full, valid driving licence, or alternative means to fulfil the mobility requirements of the role, is also required.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will join a supportive and empowering environment where effective leadership, honesty, and enthusiasm are valued. You can expect regular feedback, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a real impact in a sector that is making a difference to people’s lives and the environment. Flexible working arrangements, and a commitment to your wellbeing and growth are all part of the package.
