Finance Manager– Lead AP/AR, mentor team, drive credit control & support finance projects. AAT qualified/QBE

Your new company

A well-established and rapidly growing organisation based in Corby is currently seeking a Financial Operations Team Leader to join its dynamic finance department. Known for its commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement, the company fosters a collaborative culture and offers exciting opportunities for professional development.

Your new role

As the Finance Manager, you will take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, leading a small but capable team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general ledger functions. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about mentoring others, improving processes, and delivering value across the business. Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the Finance Operations Team across AP, AR, and general ledger
  • Oversee team performance, mentoring staff and delegating tasks effectively
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement within finance operations
  • Manage credit control, strengthening client relationships and reducing DSO
  • Work with senior finance leaders to deliver insights and support reporting
  • Contribute to process improvements and ERP system enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations

What you'll need to succeed

Applicants should be at least AAT qualified (or possess an equivalent qualification) and have demonstrable experience in a finance leadership role, ideally within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Strong technical knowledge of financial controls, proficiency in Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems—particularly Microsoft Dynamics—are essential. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business. A proactive, detail-focused mindset and a passion for driving improvement are key. Experience with ERP implementations or finance system upgrades would be advantageous but is not essential.

What you'll get in return

The successful candidate will enjoy a competitive salary along with clear opportunities for career progression within a supportive and inclusive team culture. The role offers exposure to strategic projects and senior leadership, providing valuable experience and professional growth. The position will be site based at the company’s modern office facilities in Corby, which create a comfortable and collaborative working environment.
