Remote Finance Manager role in insurance – bookkeeping, reporting, Xero. Central London visits.
Your new company
I have partnered with an insurance firm who are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented and strategic Finance Manager to oversee the financial health of our Group. This role involves bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with all statutory & regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial management to support organisational decision-making. You will need to be part-qualified and have experience with AP, AR, assisting with month-end and knowledge of the bookeeping process. This role will be remote the majority of the time, but you will be required to travel to their offices in Central London at least twice per month and for the first couple of weeks.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records
- Prepare and issue invoices for groups.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP): process supplier invoices, payments, and resolve queries
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR): issue customer invoices, monitor collections, and follow up on outstanding debts
- Assist with payroll and pension processing
- Manage fixed assets, including capitalisation and depreciation
- Oversee banking activities across the group, including supplier payments and debtor collections
- Support tax compliance and assist with VAT returns
- Liaise with outsourced accountants to ensure smooth financial operations
- Contribute to the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support group audits and annual valuations, including coordination with external auditors
- Provide MGA reporting to relevant regulatory bodies
- Assist with financial projections and scenario planning
- Support budget development and monitoring, including variance analysis and insights
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls
- Provide cash flow forecasting and analysis
What you'll need to succeed
Part Qualified
Strong understanding of finance and bookkeeping.
Experience with Xero is beneficial.
Experience working within an insurance firm is beneficial.
