Your new company

Your new company is a leader in their field, based near Alfreton and, following a sustained period of growth, are seeking a Finance Manager to join their finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in the finance team and deputise for the Finance Director. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to grow their career in a SME environment.


Your new role

Your new role will include but not be limited to:

  • Production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Year-end audit preparation and statutory reporting support
  • Strong Excel skills and experience improving/reporting via ERP systems
  • Rebate accounting and revenue recognition
  • Stock accounting, inventory reconciliations, and manufacturing cost analysis
  • Gross margin reporting and commercial performance insight
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
  • Variance analysis and operational decision support
  • Robust financial controls and process improvement implementation
  • Identification of efficiencies and reporting enhancements
  • Team leadership, including payroll and credit control oversight
  • Stakeholder engagement with finance and non-finance teams
  • Business partnering to support operational and commercial functions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Hands-on, proactive approach within fast-paced SME environments

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in a similar role and the ability to deputise for the FD

  • Fully qualified CIMA/ACCA or part-qualified or studying towards qualification, or qualified by experience

  • Proactive, process improvement mindset

  • Hands-on team support and leadership

  • Strong communication & business partnering skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME environment
