Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a well-established organisation in Kings Lynn to recruit an experienced AAT qualified or part‑qualified accountant on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility finance role within Head Office supporting a cluster of subsidiary sites across the group.

Your new role

As Finance Manager, you will lead and support the finance team in producing accurate, timely monthly management accounts for Head Office and its subsidiary businesses to include:

• Oversee day‑to‑day transactional processing and maintain the general ledger.

• Produce and review monthly management accounts, investigate variances and present clear, actionable explanations to non‑finance stakeholders.

• Reconcile payroll costs for c.190 staff and monitor operational payroll expenditure.

• Assist the Head of Finance with statutory returns, account reconciliations, budget preparation, periodic forecasting and group cashflow analysis.

• Ensure robust controls and deliverables across the finance function during the 12‑month assignment.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be immediately available and able to give commitment to a 1-year contract based in Kings Lynn working 5-days in the office and be at least an AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant who has experience of supporting a finance team with day-to-day finances but with a focus on the production of the management accounts.

Any experience of the educational sector would be an advantage, but this is not essential as the experience of preparing and reviewing the outcomes of an organisation's management accounts will be the key tasks in this interim role.

What you'll get in return

The organisation offers a generous benefits package with a salary range of £38,000 - £41,500 depending on experience. The working hours will be 5 days in the office, working 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am–4pm finish on a Friday.
