Finance & Governance Assistant - Public Sector - North Down - Values Based Organisation

Your new role

As Finance & Governance Assistant, you’ll be a key member of the Finance and Governance team, supporting the Accounts Payable function. Your responsibilities will include processing supplier invoices, managing payment runs, reconciling statements, and liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries. You’ll also assist with audit preparation, banking duties, and ensure compliance with financial procedures. This is a varied role that offers exposure to a wide range of finance operations within a collaborative and supportive environment.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A minimum of 2 GCSEs (Grade C or above) in Maths and English or equivalent and at least 6 months’ experience in an administrative role within a fast-paced, public-facing environment; or 2 years’ relevant administrative experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable but not essential:
  • Experience working in a finance department or public sector organisation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, or procure-to-pay software.
