Finance Business Partner

Finance Business Partner – Public Sector (Interim Contract)
Location:Swindon (Hybrid – 1–2 days per week on site)
Contract Length:3 months
Day Rate:£250–£300 per day (Inside IR35)

Overview:
A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced
Finance Business Partner to support a high-value portfolio of programmes. This role involves strategic financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on reporting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across multiple programmes.
  • Collaborate with programme managers and policy leads to ensure financial compliance and effective resource planning.
  • Provide central financial reporting for a range of managed programmes, including both pre-award and post-award phases.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to explain material financial movements.
  • Complete month-end activities for a portfolio valued at approximately £75 million.
Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background in public sector finance or similar regulated environments.
  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience in budget management, financial reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Comfortable working with complex financial data and multiple reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
