Your new role
In this permanent Finance Assistant job you will work within a small finance team, reporting directly to and supporting the FD. Your new role
In this permanent Finance Assistant job you will work within a small finance team, reporting directly to and supporting the FD. You wll be the first point of contact in the finance team for multiple business stakeholders and external clients and undertake a broad range of responsibilities including:
- End-to-end Accounts Payable including processing supplier invoices, preparation and execution of payment runs, supplier statement reconciliation, investigation and resolution of supplier queries.
- Accounts Receivable - posting and allocation of receipts
- Bank reconciliation (multi currency)
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Intercompany reconciliation
- Prepayments
- Preparation of VAT returns (quarterly)
- Monthly and adhoc reporting
- Management of credit cards and petty cash
- Assisting with month-end and year-end processes, including audit
What you'll need to succeed
- Recent, relevant experience working in a similar Finance Assistant/Assistant Accountant role with strong knowledge and practical experience in end-to-end Accounts Payable, bank reconciliation, and month-end support
- Multi-currency experience (specifically GBP and USD)
- A proactive nature, i.e. you will think ahead about what needs to be done rather than wait to be asked/instructed.
- Excellent relationship building/maintaining skills, both internally and with clients/suppliers
- Solid understanding of control/GL accounts, as well as AP and AR
- Sage 50 experience advantageous (not essential)
- Travel/tour/hospitality industry experience is advantageous (not essential)
