Remote Opportunity for a motivated Finance Assistant
Your new company
A growing consultancy business with a strong focus on delivering high‑quality services to its clients. You will be joining a supportive, collaborative finance team that works at the centre of the organisation’s commercial and operational performance. The company promotes internal progression and actively supports the professional development of its people.
Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Manager and Finance Director across a broad range of financial functions. Responsibilities include raising and submitting accounts receivable invoices, liaising with external parties to minimise debtor days, and responding to billing‑related queries. You will assist with month‑end reporting through posting journals for accruals, prepayments, revenue deferrals and depreciation, while also processing accounts payable invoices, managing approvals and preparing payment runs. The role includes monitoring the finance mailbox, performing bank, credit card and expense reconciliations, contributing to VAT returns, updating cashflow forecasts, supporting payroll checks and carrying out ad‑hoc financial analysis when required.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience working in a finance role, ideally within a busy, multi‑disciplinary environment. Strong skills in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, reconciliations and supporting month‑end processes are essential. Confidence using Microsoft Excel and familiarity with finance systems—preferably Xero—will be highly beneficial. You will combine excellent attention to detail with strong communication skills and the ability to manage queries efficiently. An interest in pursuing further finance qualifications or professional development is also encouraged.
What you'll get in return
You will join a supportive consultancy that encourages growth and development. The organisation offers full study support for finance qualifications, including dedicated time for study and exams. You will gain wide exposure across commercial finance, month‑end reporting and operational processes, providing clear opportunities for progression within a growing team.
