Finance Assistant (12-Month Maternity Cover)
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £34,745
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover (12 months)

Your New Role

As Finance Assistant, you’ll be a key member of the finance team, supporting the delivery of accurate and efficient financial services. Reporting to the Finance Officer, your responsibilities will include maintaining financial records, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and supporting monthly reporting. You’ll also liaise with external agencies and contribute to the continuous improvement of finance processes.

Key duties include:

  • Monthly reconciliation of cashbooks and ledgers
  • Processing invoices, payments, and refunds
  • Maintaining petty cash and banking systems
  • Supporting financial reporting and administrative tasks
  • Liaising with suppliers and external agencies
  • Assisting with policy reviews and system improvements

What You’ll Need to Succeed


  • Several years of experience in a finance department
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with computerised accounting systems and account reconciliations
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and deliver customer-focused service
  • High integrity, adaptability, and commitment to personal development
