Finance & Payroll Assistant Job based in Manchester

Your new company

Our client is a multi-academy trust with schools across Greater Manchester. They are looking for a finance and payroll assistant to support to Finance and Payroll teams.

Your new role

You will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of accounts payable

  • Posting credit card transactions

  • Making payments to suppliers.

  • Posting all bank transactions and producing monthly bank reconciliations

  • Assist in the departmental budget monitoring reports

  • Responsible for the entry of timesheets and expenses

  • Checking and validation of all timesheets, then submission into the payroll

  • To support the Payroll and Pensions Manager in validating in running and checking payroll/payslips

What you'll need to succeed

You will have:

  • Educated to at least A level or equivalent qualification

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grades 9 - 4 or equivalent

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within finance and accounting, with specific experience in purchase order processing and accounts payable

  • Experience of processing transactional payroll data and checking payroll output

  • Desirable: Experience of working in a school or multi academy trust finance environment
