Global telecoms company is looking for a site inspector.
Position: Site Inspector
Key Responsibilities:
To drive and have accountability for the delivery of the F.A.D.D. Programme work in the field, managing the build activity with the partner.
Responsible for ensuring the build is completed in accordance with Virgin Media policies, processes, H&S as well as NRSWA and the Code of Practice for co-ordination of streetworks compliance.
Using expertise and tenacity to overcome challenges, minimising impact on delivery and or cost from completion to handover.

Key Responsibilities:
- When required, support design overview and route feasibility addressing wayleave areas, applying civils knowledge to identify any potential Special Engineering Difficulties (SED's) and physical challenges, including potential traffic management, footpath and carriageway conditions and provide estimates of potential costs where needed
- Drive and participate in early partner engagement, contribute to delivery planning and be responsible for risk identification and management, escalation where necessary. Ensure a fluid transition into build and delivery to enable a right first time and on-time delivery. Responsible for overall management of delivery as part of the field team, in collaboration with your stakeholders.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving Deviation from Estimate (DFE) applications and SED’s withing the defined cost management process expectations.
- Ensure permits, conditions and SLG are compliant to the NRSWA for co-ordination of street works, and CDM regulations, HSE project requirements ensure the construction phase Health & Safety plan (CPHSP) is adhered to.
- Relationship management with the local authorities for the programme, delivery and coordination of works, traffic management requirements and through progress meetings and daily dialogue. Responsible for Quality Management & Assurance (sign-offs, overall fitness for purpose).
- Conduct Field Safe on Arrival, live & retrospective audits to ensure responsibility of compliance with all current legislation and Virgin Media specifications (Civils SROR/H, Cable, H&S, SLG, Code of Practise (Safety at Street Works and Road Works), NRSWA, Chapter 8 Equipment, and Contractor materials and staff qualifications.
Essential skills, knowledge, or experience
(Inc. professional or technical qualifications) - Ability to read, understand & replan SLD’s & job packs, including multiple dependencies
- Full NRSWA Supervisor Accreditation essential
- Proven track record of managing and supervising telecommunication build partners in the field of civils and fibre installations
- Experience of HFC and FTTP architectures
