Facilities Assistant

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our Facilities team at Trafford Town Hall. This is an afternoon-to-evening shift role, ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out general care-taking duties, including minor repairs, maintenance, and porterage.
  • Ensure the building is secure, clean, and well-presented at all times.
  • Support with room setups for meetings and events.
  • Monitor and report any health and safety issues or building defects.
  • Liaise with contractors and other service providers as required.
  • Perform regular checks of the premises and equipment.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and act as a keyholder.

Requirements:
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role is desirable.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to support occasional out-of-hours requirements.
