Experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant required for a long-term role in Newton le Willows, St Helens
Hays Education are currently supporting a primary school in Newton Le Willows to recruit an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant at Level 2 or above.
The role will be working in reception, working alongside the class teacher and supporting a child on a 1:1 basis, alongside supporting the wider class.Your new company
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the St Helens area. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider team to support children in the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping them to thrive in a safe and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting children’s learning through play and structured activities
- Assisting with personal care needs (nappy changing)
- Creating a warm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Working 1:1 or in small groups to support individual learning plans
- Supporting children with SEN in the classroom
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
What you'll need to succeed
- Level 2 or above qualification in Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a related field
- Experience working in an EYFS setting, ideally with SEN exposure
- Comfortable and confident providing personal care
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full right to work in the UK
