Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a lovely Mainstream Primary School in Blackburn, a welcoming and inclusive school with a strong ethos, to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant.

Your new role

This is a full-time, term-time only position supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, play-based learning and provide tailored support to help children reach their full potential.

This is to start on an immediate basis, is likely to operate with a start time of 08:15 and a finish time of 15:15. This will continue on an ongoing basis with a view to it potentially becoming permanent.

  • Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum in a creative and inclusive way.
  • Assist with planning and delivering activities that promote early learning and development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where needed.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to assessments.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Early Years Education.
  • Previous experience working in an EYFS setting.
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child development.
  • A commitment to the values and ethos of a Catholic school (you do not need to be Catholic to apply).
