Invigilation work is available for three weeks in January 2026. Working for one of the top Universities in the city for a period of approx. 3 weeks to support through the examination period.

Your new role
- We are seeking reliable and professional exam invigilators to join our team at the University of Liverpool for a three-week period starting in January 2026. This is a temporary position with competitive hourly pay of £13.68-£15.04 dependent on whether you are a lead invigilator or support invigilator.
As an exam invigilator, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of exams, ensuring that all rules and regulations are followed by students.
Duties and responsibilities include: Based on-campus in January 2026, between 5th-23rd – You do not need to be available for all days. You can confirm your availability once you have registered your interest. - You will be required to complete a 1.5-hour virtual training session which can be completed on your own time – you will be paid for this as hours worked.
- Staff are required to sign in, collect any materials from a designated area, deliver them to the allocated exam room and deliver completed exams at the end of the allocated time frame.
- Monitor during the exam period (typically between 2–3 hours, but can be longer for exam rooms with adjustments like extra time)
- Ensure exam rooms contain the relevant equipment and source items necessary to commence exams
- In some cases, the invigilation will take place in a 1-2-1 environment.
- Ensure the implementation of any reasonable adjustments as described in the exam report
- Prevention and detection of misconduct by students.
- Maintain a calm and stress-free environment for the students
- Ensure the health and safety standards are met
- Attend and use skills provided in training
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate for this role will:
Have excellent customer service skills
Have a calm and empathetic attitude throughout the assignment.
Be able to carry and transport high volumes of documents between locations on a large campus
This role will prioritise applications for candidates with either previous experience of invigilation and/or a registered PhD student.
Availability to commit to booked shifts between 5th – 23rd January 2026 – excluding weekends (shifts will be discussed with you before confirming)
Calm under pressure and able to be flexible on the needs of each exam.
