Hays is proud to be working in partnership with a local council to recruit an event as Parks Coordinator – an exciting opportunity to support the vibrant use of Birmingham’s parks for events and community activities.

About the Role
As Events within Parks Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in managing and balancing the use of parks across the city, ensuring they remain accessible, safe, and welcoming for both large-scale events and local community gatherings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Park Use: Manage bookings and site usage via the council’s online event portal, ensuring fair access across districts, particularly for major events.
  • Event Safety Oversight: Attend and support Safety Advisory Group (SAG) meetings to ensure events are delivered safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with event organisers, residents, and partners to ensure activities align with park use conditions and community expectations.
  • Support Approval Processes: Assist in reviewing and approving park use applications, including attending meetings and site visits. Funfair Management: Act as the park's client for standalone funfairs, including attending inspections and reviewing safety documentation.
What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in event coordination and event delivery.
  • Previous experience working in parks or open spaces is highly desirable – especially if you’ve held a park management role.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferred due to site visits and inspections.
Apply now by sending your updated CV for the opportunity to shape community life in Birmingham’s parks.
