Mechanical and Electrical property maintenance, Public Sector Estates, Lisburn, 6-9 month contract

Your new company

This is an interim contract role based in Lisburn for a period of 6–9 months. This organisation is a public sector estates department who are seeking either a Mechanical or Electrical Building Services Engineer to oversee the management of planned maintenance and small works across their large single-site facility.

Your new role

This is a temporary position anticipated to last for 6-9 months based in the Greater Belfast Area. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of specific electrical or mechanical services elements of the estate's operations relating to the development and maintenance of the built environment, engineering services and physical assets.
You will manage a cost-effective and efficient service that supports the organisation in meeting its aims of quality of service to the general public and staff.
Working as a member of a team of estates professionals, you will manage and co-ordinate electrical or mechanical operational and maintenance services for Boiler servicing, AHU maintenance, Thermostatic Mixing Valves, Air Conditioning inspections, Pressure vessels and Ventilation systems OR survey, manage and maintain electrical power generation and transmission; supply and distribution of LV, circuits and earthing, motors, drives, controls, lighting systems and emergency lighting.

What you'll need to succeed

To be suitable for this vacancy, you will ideally have the following:
A degree in a relevant Engineering-related subject plus 2 years’ relevant experience.
OR
Higher National Certificate / Diploma in: Engineering Discipline, Certificate of a Technical College or a College of Further Education in Engineering and 4 years relevant experience.

Your experience will ideally have covered:
Managing the engineering plant and up-to-date methods of maintenance planning; preparing maintenance estimates and engineering reports and carrying out directly or by contract, repair, replacement and renewal of equipment and services.
Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and have access to a car.

What you'll get in return

This position offers full-time hours, 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, based from a modern office working alongside a highly experienced and professional team of engineers and surveyors.
Up to £46,580 pro rata on a PAYE basis. The rate of pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Annual leave entitlement of 27 days and 10 public holidays. You will be paid weekly via BACS transfer every Friday morning.
