Due to continued growth, the organisation is now seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting Consultant to join its technical consulting team.
Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing environmental permitting projects from inception through to determination, supporting clients with both applications and ongoing compliance. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, working closely with clients and liaising directly with environmental regulators to progress applications efficiently.
You will be involved in a broad range of permitting work, providing exposure across multiple sectors and offering the opportunity to further develop your technical expertise within a consultancy setting.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering environmental permit applications within consultancy, industry, or a regulatory environment
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental permitting regimes and environmental legislation
- Experience preparing permit applications, variations, and surrender documentation
- Excellent technical report-writing and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
Desirable experience includes:
- Exposure to waste management, industrial emissions, or water discharge permitting
- Knowledge of environmental management systems
- Chartered status or progress towards professional accreditation (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM or similar)
